What's on my phone?

This is a rag quilt that I made for a girl friend who is having a little baby boy in the coming months.  I took this picture when I finished it, but I couldn't post it until I gave her the gift.

Sometimes when I can't find Dixie....this is where she is.

Thanks to my Mom, I can cross another item off of the 77 in 777 list!  For my birthday, she framed my diploma.  I love it!

Adventure dog?

About a month or so ago, Mark's old boss had all of his former worker guys over for a picnic.

Had to send this to Capezio to figure out what type of shoes I have and where to buy more of them.  Random!

Typical cute baby Dixie!

Can't get enough pics of this sweet face!

And again....loves sleeping on anything that smells like her daddy!

Modeling my new outfit from my mom!

"Taylor Swift" hair.  I bought a curling wand to do this style.

Worn out baby with all of her babies.  Awwww!

First snow/ice of 2010!  Beautiful to look at, not fun to drive!

Well, that is all the random goodies from my phone.  Now, I should go clean because tomorrow my MOMMY is coming to visit!!!!!!!

3 years!

3 Years ago today we said "I WILL"!    It was the most magical, fairytale-ish day ever!  From there it has only gotten better.   11-17-07 was only the beginning.  Over that past 3 years we have done so many fun things, we have been through tough stuff, we have endured a 2nd deployment to Iraq, we have traveled...and best of all we have fallen more and more in love.  I have learned how to be a wife and how to be a better person and a more faithful Christian.  I have learned that life doesn't always go the way we want, but things always work out for the best in the end.  I never thought I would live in WA state so far away from my family and friends, but I am grateful for our new friends and I am grateful that we have had the opportunity to lean on each other.  I have learned to make each moment matter and not sweat the small stuff and really most of it is small.  I am truly grateful for my husband....he is strong and honest and loving and patient and brave and kind and he makes me a better person!  The past 3 years have been more than I could have ever hoped for and I can only pray that the next 100 years or so will just continue to get better!   So...Happy Anniversary to the love of my life!  Here's to many more memories and years of love and laughter and happily ever after!

I wish we had a piece of this to eat today!

I guess the pictures will have to do...

A very special moment...

And another...

Real American Heroes!  With my sweetheart Nannie!

Epic Road Trip of 2010!

Yesterday, we loaded up the car and headed to Hobby Lobby.  I know to most this doesn't seem like a big deal...but the Hobby Lobby was 4 hours away!  It opened on Monday and we just couldn't wait to go stock up on some home decor at 50% off.  You really just can't beat HL.  Michaels and JoAnns just can't compete on the home decor or Holiday decor.  I got a few things that I "needed" :lamp, basket, some Christmas stuff, a stocking for fur baby, some picture frames and a few other little items.  It has been awhile since I have laughed so hard!!!

First pit stop:  on the pass...freezing!

Next Pit Stop:  Sonic!  The lady that took our picture may or may not have had only 2 teeth in her mouth!

Finally...we made it!!!!  Let the shopping begin!

Post shopping!

How excited are you?

We had an amazing time!  Great company....great friends...great sales...GREAT DAY!

Wee 3 trees!

Tree #1:  This is our main tree!  It has a gold and red theme complete with handmade bows by my dear Nannie!  The ornaments are a mix of red/gold and all of our special ornaments.  Wedding ornaments, collegiate ornaments, and travel ornaments.  I would leave it up year round if I could.  It just makes me happy to look at it and remember where everything came from and the memory that each ornament holds.

Tree #2:  This is the newest addition.  I call it the Red,White, Blue Tree.  It has a mix of ornaments that represent the units we have been a part of, USA ornaments, soldier ornaments and Texas themed ornaments.  We put it in our guest bedroom...which is called the "Granny" room because the bed is adorned with the beautiful quilt she hand made us for our wedding.

Tree #3:  (not lit b/c I can't reach where it plugs in...must get extension cord!)  This is the BARBIE tree! Yes, I am a grown woman with a love for Barbie!  My Mom has been giving me Collectible Barbies and Barbie ornaments for as long as I can remember.  It is a very special tradition, and someday I hope to continue it with a special daughter!  I'd like to put all the ornaments on a pink tree with pink lights, but for now it has a home in our master bedroom and although Mark tolerates the Barbies, I'm not sure he would go for a pink tree.  Someday...

Happy Christmas Tree Day Eve

So…tomorrow is the day!  The day for what, you may ask….The day the Christmas tree goes up!  I am so excited!!!!  The Christmas spirit is in full effect here at our house.  I think this mostly has to do with the fact that Mark is HOME this year!!!  It is so much better when we are together.  I don’t even remember what I have for Christmas d├ęcor, because this is only the 2nd time we have been together to decorate.  Christmas 2006:  Iraq  2007:  Mid-move from TX to GA  2008:  Together in our cute Dupont house  2009:  Iraq  2010:  TOGETHER!

Speaking of being together…next week is our 3 year anniversary!  It really feels like just yesterday we had the most amazing wedding ever.  Please excuse my humility…but seriously it was a fairytale come true!  We don’t have any anniversary plans this year.  We normally take a vacation somewhere, but due to some other factors we had to cancel.  L  So, we will just hang out here together and maybe do something wild and crazy like dinner and a movie!  But…if funds permit, there may be a quick trip to Canada in January in the works.  It is only a 4 hour drive and we could put on our dusty skis for a few days.

In other news…me and a couple of my crazy girlfriends (all TX girls!) are in serious need of a Hobby Lobby trip to decorate for Christmas.  You really can’t beat the 50% off sales they have ALL THE TIME!  So, we are taking a 4 hour road trip next Tuesday to the Grand Opening of a shiny, new Hobby Lobby in Kennewick, WA!  I assure you there will be lots of Christmas music, laughter and girl talk!  I am counting the days…

Fantastic Weekend!

This weekend was kicked off with an awesome night of Bunco!  Last month, my friend Heather started up a Bunco group and I continued the tradition this month by hosting the group at my house.  I made some dice cookies, a few appetizers and had a BYOWG (Bring  your own wine glass) theme.  I think everyone had an awesome time.  Unfortunately I won $0, which is down from my $2 win last month.  Oh well, the company was wonderful and it was really fun!  I'm already looking forward to December Bunco at Shalane's House.  Oh how I love my Army wives.  :)

Saturday was cram packed with activities.  It started with an FRG bake sale at the Holiday Bazaar...then off to a baby shower and then the best part of the day was going to see So you Think you Can Dance tour!  It was AMAZING!!!  I could have watched them dance for hours and hours.  They are so incredibly talented and made me wish I could go back to being 18 and dancing for 12 hours or more a week.  Even Mark enjoyed it!

Today it was back to the bake sale and now home to relax by the fire and enjoy some time with Mark.  It seems like we have been going opposite directions lately, so it is nice to finally get to spend time with him.  And...I'm totally looking forward to the 4 day weekend coming up for Veteran's day this weekend!    The Christmas tree WILL be making its appearance at our house...and I CAN NOT wait!

A little Turkey

More cookies from my kitchen this week...I really need a bigger kitchen for all of this baking!  These are for the Holiday Bazaar here this weekend and our FRG is doing a cupcake/cookie stand.

Happy Everything!

A few weeks ago when my friend Molly was in town we went to paint pottery.  Here is my little piece of art!  I think it turned out pretty cute and it was lots of fun!
