13 months

Yesterday KG turned 13 months!  Time is still flying by.  I wanted to jot down some of the things she is doing before I forget!
-You know that cows say "moo" and dogs say "woof"
-You like to lay your head on our shoulders and say "awwww"
-You know where your nose, mouth and belly button are.
-You are started walking on your knees...I guess it is a crawl/walk hybrid.
-You babble up a storm.
-You have starting throwing little fits if you don't get your way.
-You are not a big fan of Santa or ponies.
-Still wearing size 3 diapers and 12 month clothes.
-You are learning to eat with a spoon.

Nostalgia

On the Eve of my drive to Texas, I've been feeling so nostalgic about this house that has been home to us for the last 17 months!  This is our 6th move together as a couple, but our first move as a family and it is just a little bittersweet.  This is the house we brought our baby home to...we have had so many visitors here...have made tons of memories and this house just feels full of love...if that is possible!  Tonight as we rocked KG and put her to bed in her first room we got a little teary...I've actually been a little teary all day.  I'm over the moon excited to be moving to TX and for our new house and for being close to family, but I'll miss this little house...our sweet neighbors...the sights of DC...Old Town...the Newells...the Fairs...the fall leaves...Mt. Vernon....and much more!

I think I understand now why my Mama always wants to drive by our Skyview house when we go to New Braunfels.  There is just something special about where you bring your little baby home for the first time.  This morning Mark and I made a video tour of our house for KG to watch someday.   And hopefully one day we can come back here for vacation and drive by to show her where she spent the first year of her life.

As this chapter comes to a close, I look forward to the memories that we will make at our new house and the experiences we will have!  I'm so happy that the Army brought us here...even if it was a short time!

Home is where the Army sends us....and we are off again!

See you Later Virginia!
